Lumina

Established centuries before the arrival of the Tri-Colony Alliance, Lumina began as a town with humble beginnings that was run under the authority of twins Zacharias and Aurelia. Zacharias and Aurelia were considered “children of God,” since their existence came to be with the lineage of generations of mages with a special element: Light. The small town flourished with the assortment of many people with different elements including: fire, water, and earth. Centuries have passed and this town of humble beginnings grew taller and wider, housing more than 500,000 citizens and thousands of traditions.

However, as Lumina quickly grew, so did the tension between Zacharias and Aurelia. Because Aurelia was the older of the twin, Zacharias could not get his hand on the throne. There were many decisions that Zacharias’ did not agree with, and eventually left the safety of Lumina to venture out and establish a settlement that would later be known as Solstica. Despite Zacharias’ absence, Aurelia continued to help her city Lumina grow, becoming the city that it is today.

Lumina, being the older of the two mage settlements, is ruled by the Monarch Aurelia. The city sits at the edge of the forest off to the west, where oak trees are lush. Compared to the city of Solstica, Lumina is bathed in sunlight, highlighting the city’s European-influenced structures. Lumina is Western-influenced, where much of the city is notable for its tiled roofs, brick walls, and overhead arches. Similar to Solstica, in the heart of the city sits a large mosaic of a sun. There is a ring surrounding the sun, where at five-equally spaced points each represent an element: fire, water, earth, wood, and metal. The sun has many rays, and its longest ones each point to an element. The heart of this city is the center of all festivals and events, which is notable for its colorful array of flags, and lively crowd of merchants.

Lumina celebrates two very important days:

  • Solstice Festival

  • Luna Festival

The monarch Aurelia, although separated from her younger twin brother, Zacharias, believes it is important to celebrate her brother’s settlement across the land.
